Uppingham School Symphony Orchestra perform an evening of symphonic classics in the Memorial Hall, conducted by Andrew Webster.

A joint concert with Uppingham Choral Society and Stamford Choral Society

Uppingham School’s pupils and staff join with the local choral societies of Uppingham and Stamford to present the second part of Handel’s masterpiece oratorio, Messiah. With professional soloists and orchestra, hear this iconic work sung by a massed choir of 200 singers in an electrifying collaborative performance which closes our Spring Term.

Following a day of classes, rehearsals and demonstrations, Uppingham’s pupil guitarists join together for a public concert celebrating acoustic, electric and bass guitars.

Directed by Head of Strings Michał Ćwiżewicz, Uppingham School Chamber Orchestra perform Mozart’s Divertimento in D, and Ach, Ich Fuhl’s from ‘The Magic Flute’, performed by soprano Grace Hillis, alongside the heart-aching Adagietto from Mahler’s Fifth Symphony and Benjamin Britten’s Simple Symphony.

Six Uppingham pupils perform concerto movements by Bruch, Mozart, Strauss, Sarasate and Saint-Saëns alongside professional orchestra, the London Mozart Players.

London Mozart Players are the oldest, freshest and most adventurous chamber orchestra in the UK. Set up over 75 years ago by Harry Blech to perform the works of Mozart and Haydn, LMP’s mission has evolved into creating bold, ambitious and accessible musical experiences for all.
